WinZO Partnership with Tencent to host PUBG Mobile Tournament
WinZo, a Vernacular Exports gaming platform has partnered with Tencent Games India to host PUBG mobile tournaments on its platform, allowing users to play PUBG in 10 regional languages from anywhere in India.
As the country is faced with social disturbances due to ‘COVID-19 spread across the country, due to which users are playing online games as recreational. “We aspire to bring the best gaming experience to India’s mobile-first audience,” said WinZO co-founder Pavan Nanda
The WinZO company statement announced that “WinZO will now host PUBG Mobile’s free-to-entry e-sport tournament with prizes of over Rs 1 crore per month.” WinZO claims that they have deep reach among users from non-urban areas in India and 90 percent of its users fall into tier-II to V cities. About 80 percent of their users play games in their regional languages such as Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Bhojpuri.
In the recent circumstances, the platform is also receiving organic traffic from Tier-I areas including Delhi and Bengaluru. The platform has crossed almost 20 million app installations in less than a year. WinZO is also referred to as processing 200 million micro-transactions per month. In July 2019, WinZo Games announced a $ 1.5 million fund to promote Indian game developers.
