Super Bowl is hoping to woo 26 million American Better
The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City chiefs faced off this week in Super Bowl LIV, and like every time the biggest football game of the year is expected to increase gaming activity – legitimate and otherwise – even among casual bookies.
According to the American Gaming Association (AGA), due to the expansion of legitimate games across the US, 26 million domestic gamblers are expected to invest in the Super Bowl this year, up from 23 million the previous year.
The Morning Consultation conducted a survey on behalf of the AGA, polling 2,200 gambling adults between 21–22 January. Speculators are defined as those who can place bets at online casinos, with bookies, in pools or similar competitions, and with friends and family. Poll’s margin of error is two percent.
The Super Bowl is typically one of the heaviest bet sports competitions in the US, and sportsbook operators are increasingly adopting unique methods to entice gamblers.
For Ratings betting boosted
Sports betting is on in 14 states, with seven more expected to come online, with some probably starting as early as this year. Observers of the gaming industry and even some NFL owners acknowledged that the proliferation of legitimate games in the US is a boon for football television ratings.
“According to previous AGA research, 75 percent of NFL bookies say they are more interested in watching a game they bet on.” “Market growth means the NFL is beginning to realize the $ 2.3 billion opportunity that comes from sports betting.”
With the Variety survey released last year, it shows that regardless of the game, a wager is more likely to watch the competition on television than a casual fan with no financial stake in the game.
Under The Table Bets
4 million gamblers will head retail sportsbooks to place bets on Super Bowl LIV, with a 19 percent increase from 2019 to online or mobile devices.
The AGA Said, “Fans are almost divided, with 52 percent placing bets on Kansas City chiefs, while 48 percent San Francisco 49ers.”
