Sikkim Shut Casinos For Domestic Tourists To Avoid COVID-19 Effect
In Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced a ban on entry of all domestic tourists into the Himalayan state on Monday. All educational institutions (including government and private schools, colleges and universities), discos, cinema halls, casinos, gyms, Melas, and tombola in Sikkim will remain closed till 15 April 2020. So as to prevent possible spread of COVID-19 in the state. On 5 March, Sikkim banned the entry of all foreign tourists into the state.
Educational institutions are closed in some other states to prevent the spread of COVID-19, others are Delhi, Karnataka, West Bengal and Maharashtra.
Goa also recently announced that casinos in the state, to try to avoid the spread of coronavirus among public facilities, would remain closed until 31 March 2020. Apart from casinos, educational institutions, gyms, spas, pubs, clubs, public swimming pools, and theaters will also remain closed in the coastal state of Goa.
The Chief Minister of Sikkim has urged the residents of Sikkim to desist from exiting the state unless it is an emergency.
