Sports Betting Licenses can issued by Colorado Gaming Commission

Seven sports betting permits may be issued by the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission on February 20 meeting. Seven Colorado casinos, including the Brass Ass, are applying for sports betting permits this meeting.

The commission will hear applications for a master license, which will have to work with third parties to open up brick-and-mortar sportsbooks to gaming companies and offer web-based and mobile betting.

Seven Casino Applications

The seven casinos applying for a sports betting permit at this meeting are:

Brass Ass Casino, Dostal Alley, Double Eagle Hotel & Casino, McGill’s Hotel & Casino, Midnight Rose Hotel & Casino, Monarch Casino Resort and Spa, and the Saratoga Casino Black Hawk.

More casino applications are expected

The state has more than 30 commercial and tribal casinos, most of which are located in Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek, and nearly all operators will apply for a sports betting license.

Colorado law requires that companies wishing to offer mobile apps to game gamblers must have an affiliation with firm operating land-based gaming assets in the state.
