Online Gaming Saw Huge Increase in Users Due to Lockdown

According to the report, some of the largest online gaming companies in India have enjoyed a surge in traffic, sign-ups and user engagements during the coronovirus lockdown. Many operators saw an increase in big spending gamers during that time.

The creator of popular games like Sachin Saga and Being Salman, Rajan Navani , said, “The number of first time spenders increased by almost 25% but the number of people spending large amounts was around 40%.”

As many people have now returned to work due to the relaxation in lockdown and are now spending less time online, brands will now have to work harder to fight for users’ free time.

WinZO, which recently agreed a partnership with Rin Games and Deftch, has immediate plans to launch 30-40 games in the next two months. Adda52, known for its poker and rummy brands, has launched a free app to capitalize on mobile play.

The Economic Times puts the total size of the gaming market in India at less than $ 1 billion to $ 1 billion worldwide, with average users spending from US $ 1.50 to US $ 2 per month.
