Master License Approved for Colorado Sports Wagers

Regulators in Colorado Thursday approved the first seven casino sportsbook operators, along with sports gambling regulations. But the rules still require final approval from state officials, and at the same time, seven casinos will need their online and retail sportsbook partners approved by inspectors.

The CLGB made large-scale cosmetic changes to rule, closing a process that began soon after the passage of a ballot in November 2019 to allow voters to approve sports betting.

Each of the state’s 33 commercial casinos, all located in the historic gaming cities of Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek, have applied to place bets, but only seven were approved by the commission on Thursday. These are:-

 

  • Brass Ass Casino
  • Dostal Alley Brewpub and Casino
  • Double Eagle Hotel and Casino
  • J.P. McGills Hotel & Casino
  • Midnight Rose Hotel & Casino
  • Monarch Casino
  • Saratoga Casino

Colorado bookies will be able to place bets on dozens of American and foreign professional leagues, as well as state and out-of-state college teams. However, propositional bets are not allowed in college games. Colorado lawmakers began to consider sports betting. Supporters introduced legislation in the early 2019 session. Now, a long trip to Colorado towards legal sports betting can see the finish line.  Now, Colorado’s long journey toward legal sports betting is at the finish line. Sports betting in Colorado is on pace to begin by May 1.
