Delta Corp, Pride Group Contributed Rs. 51 lakhs in Goa
Goa’s leading casino operators, Delta Corp (Deltin Group) and Pride Casino Group, contributed 51 lakhs to the Goa Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the state government’s fight against COVID-19.
Anil Malani, Chairman-Operations of Delta Corp and Srinivas Nayak, Managing Director of Pride Group, gave a check of 51 lakhs to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Both Malani and Nayak said that apart from the contributions, both of their groups are taking care of medicines, medical equipment, food and ration supplies of about 7,000 employees of the casino industry in Goa as well as police personnel and other stranded persons.
Nayak mentioned that the Pride Group would support the government even if further closure was ordered for the casinos, beyond the national lockdown period of day 21, which ends on April 14, 2020, if it is in the interest of public health.
He further said that the Pride Group has paid full salary to all its employees till March 2020 and will try to continue even if the closure period of the casino industry in the state extends beyond April 14.
